Recall Joe Nichols

By Thomas LaDuke & Joseph Tocco

Let’s walk this guy out of office

Joe has to go.

The time has arrived.

The novel experiment of electing someone with no political or civic experience in the city of Fraser must come to an end long before his term ends in 2019.

We do not come to this decision lightly.

Recalls are historically tough routes to go and always the last option when all other alternatives have been exhausted. This has been talked about for months and the hope was that Mr. Nichols would eventually learn on the job.

He clearly has not.

Last Saturdays Special Council Meeting to hire a permanent city manager was the last straw. This was not the first time Mr. Nichols has been unprofessional, but if Fraser is too truly move forward, he has to be removed so it will be one of his last.

The grounds for his removal are clear.

 * Mr. Nichols has on multiple occasions not complied with F.O.I.A. requests (Freedom Of Information Act) that were submitted to the city since he requested a change of email address to a private, non government email address late last year that only he controls.

 * His shutting off of the microphone while citizens have spoken to council in a respectful manner has denied Fraser residents their cherished first amendment right to ” peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” This is a subject that former Mayor and Mr.Nichols supporter, Doug Hagerty  also felt very strongly about  and sent an email stating this in 2008.

*His general conduct during meetings and off the microphone blurbs (Saturday’s comments are just the latest example) are a constant source of embarrassment and do not reflect how the majority of Fraser residents want their elected officials to act.

We all know Fraser deserves better than this.

That is why we have taken the time to post this today and ask for your support. If you believe that we need to act today and not wait until November of 2019 to move Fraser forward, please contact us today at recallmayorjoe@gmail.com.

With your help and that of those that have already signed up, we can elect someone who is respectful and considerate of the incredible honor of being an elected official in this city.

Respectfully,

T. LaDuke

Subject: Freedom of Speech ~ Fraser

Citizens and Taxpayers of Fraser:

Norman Rockwell created a compelling series of paintings during WWII called “The Four Freedoms” to help reinforce what we were fighting to protect. Most noted, is the one titled “Freedom of Speech”.

It shows an ordinary man in ordinary clothes, in what we imagine to be a New England town meeting, rising and speaking. We do not know his topic, or his opinion, and the person or body he is addressing is not shown. But seated around him is an array of ordinary citizens. Our forefathers desire to establish and protect that Freedom of Speech is among the cornerstone reasons for the establishment of our Country.

The antithesis of this philosophy lives today in Fraser, Michigan and is vividly embodied in the sinister and cynical manipulation by the Mayor and some elected officials who control the agendas and who keep a chokehold on the taxpayers that are permitted to speak. They have no interest in points of view other than those they or their shadowy cronies concoct. They tolerate citizens input only because they consciously seek to hobble those with any other perspective but their own.

During the Council Meeting on July 12, 2008, those in attendance and those watching on the cable channel saw Mayor Moe Geromette halt Mr. Ken Immler’s “Freedom of Speech” during his allotted time through the abuse of his power and the aid of the Mayors “mute button”. During the public comment period, attached to the public hearing, Mr. Immler, a concerned building and property owner in Fraser, brought forth a number of serious concerns associated with the still sketchy plan for the Assessors Office, and the unfinished plans to keep this department afloat.

After a little over three-and-a-half minutes into Mr. Immler exercising his “Freedom of Speech”, our Mayor, without justification or notice, felt compelled to trample on one of Mr. Immler’s basic rights by turning off the public microphone so that none could hear Mr. Immler’s powerful comments. This abuse of power and the attempt of intimidation by Mayor Geromette, an elected official, is unconscionable in America and violates ours and Mr. Immler’s very basic rights (guaranteed to us by our Constitution).

I, therefore, ask that all members of the Fraser City Council make a public and written apology to Mr. Immler for Mayor Geromette’s actions. Also, each on Council should note that they are individually obligated to uphold the law of the land and that they, as our elected officials, are not above the law or above Mr. Immler’s rights. Lastly, I ask any free-thinking and free-speaking citizen and/or taxpayer of the City of Fraser to express their outrage at the “Freedom of Speech” that was denied to Mr. Immler on June 12, 2008 by e-mailing Mayor Moe Geromette: (myslcomm@comcast.net) with a unilateral denouncement of his actions.

Respectfully,

Doug Hagerty

Reading With Joe….TOSHIBA

By Joseph Tocco

Budget Meeting Tonight 7pm.

If you recall last month during the first wave of budget meetings Joe and Matt did ANOTHER investigation. This time…Phone Systems.

Seems they were unhappy that Michelle Kwiatkowski ( Systems Administrator) had not “checked out” the system that the city had invested in. They had an email from Toshiba saying we were essentially screwed.

Well a response was given and I wonder if Joe or Matt tonight will update us all on what that was. Being I am a betting man I know the odds are not good they will do the right thing.

Thankfully this video is just over 3 minutes long but it is hard to watch as Matt & Joe, shine on each other. I apologize in advance but I did feel keeping the part where Joe painfully reads the email sent to him had to stay in. Transparency and all.

One last thing. Why are they using their phones when the city purchased i-pads for them? I think Mr. LaDuke will have something on this soon.

See you at the meeting tonight!!!!!!

Attention Deficit Leads To Budget Deficits

The Peoples Mayor
AKA T.LaDuke

Fraser City Council Special Budget Meeting for Tuesday May-9-2017 was attended by professionals of the city who laid out their budget requests and answered questions of the council.

The meeting was also attended by citizens who voiced their concerns.

Mayor and Acting Like Mayor, Joe & Matt were too busy too busy to pay attention.

Here in this video Parks And Recreation board member Dave Winowiecki speaks to council. Joe and Matt could care less.

Next up Gary Placido ( who does his homework) speaks to council and Joe and Matt shuffle papers.

Of course anyone who has watched them know this is typical. Ignore those who speak well and act like they know more.

This is how they act to citizens who are respectfully addressing them, imagine if it was a low budget podcaster.

These are the people who are your representatives in public. On TV for the sinkhole, at other government meetings.

Would Joe and Matt ignore Candice Miller speaking to them? Mark Hackel? Gov. Snyder? Maybe this just reserved to the citizens they represent and pay the taxes here in town.

Question is Fraser……..do you care?

We will soon find out.

Stealing A Sinkhole Update, Mayor Joe Style

Here is a letter delivered by Dan Heaton who is the Macomb County Public Works P.R.person, delivered to the Fraser senior housing residents on April 28th.

Now here is a letter delivered to the same Fraser seniors 4 days later on May 2nd.

Looks like the same thing doesn’t it? Except for the blurb on the end of the “Joe” one, they are the same.

We are going to hear this week about the city needing to watch all the dollars it can on the budget, yet Joe Nichols used city resources to copy and paste an update that was already given.

Once again this is a county issue.

Why were city resources used to duplicate this?

How much did this cost the city?

Why did Joe not give attribution to the county for their press update?

Candice Miller has done a great job tackling this problem and dealing with it. She does not seek the spotlight and just wants to do the job she was elected to do. Mrs Miller is so focused on the “job” part, she had her Public Relations person sign the update to the citizens of Fraser.

If Joe focused on his job instead of chasing the spotlight, he might be as successful as Candice Miller.

What do you think?
